Sweet ride

So I'm pretty grateful to Jeff Martin for his inspiration to me. Not only do I love his work but he's into bike riding which has really inspired me to get back out and do a little riding before the snow flys. I usually ride quite a bit, but this year almost nada. So I went out for about 45 minutes this morning and feel really good. I got that riders high. I was gonna take a picture with me in my silly gear with my bike, but my battery was dead so I'm all cleaned up and showered with my sweet ride. I had to turn around this morning cause I was a little cold. I had to put leggings under my bike shorts and put a thin hat on. Brrrr. Thank you Jeff!

I did a little texturing on the sides of my square plates. In my mind they look really sweet when they are done. The edges will be unglazed with oxide rubbed in, with the center glazed. Can you see it?

Now I think you may have inspired me to get back out on my bike. An early morning ride sounds nice.

That plate is gonna be sweet! I can picture it ;)

Great portrait of 'woman & her bike.' I miss riding my bike -- mine is a beach bike & I now live in the hills (instead of Florida). I walk these hills but pedaling that big tire bike - whew!
Love your big flat plate & the oval server -- the white inside against those colors is gorgeous!

It's pretty mountainous where I live. I'm kind of in a valley, surrounded by mountains. Lots of hills. I have to determine my energy level of the day to choose which way to go. One of the hardest, but rewarding rides was this route up in North Woodstock. I can't remember the distance but it was miles of up with no letup. I have 24 gears and was in the highest (lowest?) gear towards the end, moving very slowly. But what a sweet ride down!

I can visualize the finished plate!

Congrats on getting out on your bike again - I realize that I need to do the same. Exercise that is. I think part of my recent neuroses coincides with the fact that I abruptly stopped running this summer in early July. I think I need that physical movement to center and balance myself. My hubby was just asking me why I stopped running yesterday.

You look different with your hair down; looking forward to seeing your square plates and little miss stripey is quite sumptuous.

Hi Linda-Like probably a lot of people I can look quite different in many photos. If we meet in person you will be like who is that?

I've been a little crazy this year too Cynthia-and Adam keeps suggesting I get out and exercise-which of course he is right about. I've been out a few times now, and while my problems don't exactly disappear, it does feel really good.
